The Rig

NotAwheelchair- The Rig is a power chair consisting of folding handles with button release for transfers. The Rig has manual steering and braking system only, but other models are in progress.


Transportation:

Requires loading into a truck bed, trailer, or basket carrier hitch attachment. Handlebars and back of the seat fold down to fit into the back of SUVs and larger vehicles.

Weight: 2 batteries and full suspension - 130lbs, 1 battery and full suspension - 120lbs

Pros 

The Rig goes 12 MPH and has a range of 10-20 miles, which is faster and longer travel time than most wheelchair options, manual wheelchair can be hauled on the back platform to use when desired, made of bike parts and that can be worked on a local bike shops


Cons 

Limited adaptability, requires bilateral arm and trunk control, struggles in loose sand and loose snow, electrical system cannot be exposed to excessive moisture, does not offer attendant control


Maintenance: 

Recommend an overall bike inspection before every ride, The Rig is made of mostly e-bike parts so tools can be found online or at local bike shops, charge batteries after each use


Transfers: Lift systems are recommended for organizations assisting with transfers depending on the users ability to transfer independently.
